II Foro de la Edición. Publicaciones Independientes de Arte en Latinoamérica, en el MUSAC

El día de mañana se realizará el II Foro de la Edición. Publicaciones Independientes en Latinoamerica, organizado por el MUSAC. Entre los participantes y las revistas invitadas se encuentran Roxana Martínez (co-editora de populardelujo, Colombia), Guadalupe Maradei (coordinadora de la revista Ramona, Argentina), Lisette Lagnado (curadora, coeditora revista online Trópico, Brasil), Bernardo Ortiz (coeditor de la revista Valdez, Colombia), Julieta Aranda (codirectora de e-flux Journa, NY), Analia Sokomonoff (proyecto Last México, moderadora de las jornadas III Edición Foro de Ediciones Contemporáneas del Museo Carrillo Gil), y yo, que estaré hablando de la revista Juanacha que editamos cooperativamente desde el Espacio La Culpable en 2007 y 2008. El foro se transmitirá en streaming desde este link.

Cabe decir además que sin imaginarlo me he tropezado aquí con varias referencias a publicaciones limeñas. E incluso como parte del proyecto Vitrinas del MUSAC, que tiene como invitada a la revista venezolana Pulgar, han colocado en exhibición y consulta el número #3 de la revista Prótesis que coeditaramos (junto con Eliana Otta, Sharon Lerner, Juan Salas, Nancy La Rosa, Santiago Quintanilla, y otras personas) ya cinco años atrás y que curiosamente anuncié en uno de los primeros post de este blog. Coincidentalmente también la presentación de esa revista la hicimos en La Culpable!

Y según me contaron ahora en el MUSAC el número #0 de Juanacha (que editamos Eliana Otta y yo en Medellín, en el contexto del MDE07) ha sido recientemente sustraido del espacio de consulta. Me ha dado algo de pena porque es un número realmente difícil de conseguir, pero habiendo tantas revistas buenas allí expuestas quiero pensar que tal vez el ladrón la disfrutó y quiso tanto que no tuvo más opción que robarla! Espero que al menos pueda seguir circulando. Reproduzco la información del foro ahora y luego de esta actividad (la última del año, espero) prometo actualizar de forma regular.

MUSAC promueve desde 2010 el Foro de la Edición, un encuentro bianual cuyo formato permite la creación de una comunidad temporal de trabajo para reflexionar sobre diferentes aspectos de la edición de publicaciones de crítica, teoría y práctica artística contemporánea en distintos ámbitos.

Complementando la exposición de la Revista venezolana Pulgar en el Proyecto Vitrinas, en esta ocasión, el II Foro enfocará su mirada a las publicaciones independientes de arte editadas por colectivos de artistas o intelectuales del contexto latinoamericano, a través de una reunión abierta, que se celebrará el 11 de diciembre, entre los editores, artistas, pensadores y mediadores culturales invitados.

Los editores de las revistas independientes de arte Ramona, Argentina; populardelujo, Colombia; Juanacha, Perú; Trópico, Brasil; E- Flux Journal, Nueva York y Valdez, Colombia, cuestionarán las publicaciones como espacios para los artistas, lugares de formación de discursos y centros de información independiente, y valorarán el panorama general de las publicaciones independientes y de crítica de Arte en Latinoamérica.

Las publicaciones latinoamericanas seleccionadas, son la representación del sólido compromiso de los editores con el arte contemporáneo y con su contexto. La labor editorial independiente les ha permitido emprender sus publicaciones con libertad, autonomía y criterio definido, e idear procesos y soluciones creativas para superar las barreras inherentes a la producción independiente. Estas publicaciones son medios flexibles y dinámicos que no sólo permiten la circulación de la información, sino que exploran nuevas construcciones culturales, generan sentido y, sobretodo, son espacios mentales que se erigen como un campo de experimentación ineludible para la sociedad contemporánea.

Continuando con la línea editorial del MUSAC el Foro de la Edición publicará El Boletín del Foro, en la que se recogen textos críticos e inéditos de los participantes, y la agenda del próximo encuentro, programado en mayo de 2011.

La I Edición celebrada en mayo puso en juego el papel de las publicaciones de Critica de Arte en España y congregó a José Luis Brea, Director de Estudios Visuales; Mª Virginia Jaua: Directora editorial de salonKritik; Martí Manén, Co-director de A*DESK; Darío Corbeira, Editor de Brumaria, Mar Angosto, Coordinadora de mus-A, y Maider Zilbeti Pérez, Directora de Zehar.

MUSAC presentará en el marco del Foro, el número O de RADAR, Revista de Arte y Pensamiento MUSAC, espacio crítico que aborda las construcciones culturales contemporáneas de Latinoamérica desde la visión de algunos de sus artífices más influyentes.

La Fundação Serralves de Oporto se suma a la iniciativa celebrando en su sede el encuentro el 13 de diciembre para expandir el análisis sobre la edición independiente a través de las publicaciones latinoamericanas participantes.

Revista mensual dedicada a las artes visuales en Buenos Aires, publicada desde mayo del año 2000 hasta junio del 2010. La revista se posicionó como un medio central para la formación de discursos sobre las artes visuales en el país. Fue seleccionada para participar en la bienal Documenta 12 magazines - Kassel 2007. Alrededor de 300 autores -artistas, historiadores, críticos, comisarios/curadores, coleccionistas, galeristas, escritores e investigadores- han colaborado en la revista, entre ellos se destacan: Liam Gillick (U.K), Thierry de Duve (Bélgica), Nelly Richard (Chile), Dmitry Vilensky (Rusia), Brian O' Doherty (Irlanda), Claire Bishop (U.K), Suely Rolnik (Brasil), Susan Douglas (Canada), Robert Storr (USA), Kevin Power (U.K), Arthur Danto (USA), Gianni Vattimo (Italia), Abbas Kiarostami (Irán). Editada por la fundación Sociedad, Tecnología, Arte (START), entidad sin fines de lucro. Se trata de una revista de unas 100 páginas, de formato textual y sin imágenes, impresa en blanco y negro.

Populardelujo es un proyecto sin ánimo de lucro y en función del patrimonio colectivo, dedicado a dar cuenta, proteger y estimular el capital cultural popular y urbano de Bogotá, Colombia, Suramérica. Populardelujo investiga y recoge información; produce exposiciones, textos y conferencias, y vincula y promueve iniciativas que se inscriben dentro de su misma preocupación, conformando un dinámico centro de información que en diversos formatos integra múltiples visiones sobre la Bogotá común y corriente.

Aunque puede adoptar múltiples formas, Populardelujo tiene a internet como principal plataforma de publicación de contenidos y mecanismo de funcionamiento cooperativo. El sitio web www.populardelujo.com recibe alrededor de 20.000 visitas al mes y sus boletines mensuales son leídos por más de 5.000 suscriptores alrededor del mundo.

Juanacha es una publicación de crítica cultural y escritura sobre artes visuales de carácter cooperativo del Espacio La Culpable (Lima, Perú). Nace como una urgencia editorial asociada a este espacio independiente y colectivo de arte que intentaba transformar sus formas de discutir en la escena limeña. La Culpable desde finales de 2006 es un lugar de reunión y discusión semanal, zona de talleres y proyectos especiales, plataforma de activación ciudadana, eventual recinto de exposiciones de emergencia, etc. Acciones todas que en cierto momento exigieron un soporte físico de discusión. La primera edición de Juanacha fue producto de la residencia de La Culpable en el ‘Encuentro Prácticas Artísticas Contemporáneos Medellín 07’, en Colombia (junio 2007). Frente a la severidad académica tradicional de una revista de arte, Juanacha apuesta por el espíritu crítico entendido como lugar de experimentación.

La revista electrónica brasileña Trópico es una iniciativa del periodista de la Folha de S. Paulo, Alcino Leite Neto, actualmente editor de PubliFolha. Además de Leite Neto, colaboran en la edición de la revista, la antropóloga, Esther Hamburger y la crítica de arte, Lisette Lagnado. Pionera de las revistas electrónicas de cultura en Brasil, participó en la plataforma Documenta 12 magazines (Kassel, 2007). La revista electrónica, invita a un nutrido grupo de colaboradores a contribuir desde un posicionamiento crítico y teórico con ensayos en torno al Arte, audiovisual, publicaciones de prosa y poesía, investigaciones sobre territorio, política, identidad, construcciones culturales, etc.

Los objetivos con los que nace la publicación eran: realizar una revista electrónica de cultura, una revista multidisciplinar, dedicada tanto al ensayo como a la crítica y al periodismo, evitando la pauta dominante de la prensa escrita, enfocada hacia asuntos poco comunes en los periódicos y revistas de gran circulación; y explorando los aspectos desconocidos para el público cuando trata de temas culturales dominantes, o globalizados.

Editada por Julieta Aranda, Brian Kuan Wood y Anton Vidokle, e-flux journal es una publicación de arte mensual que incluye ensayos y contribuciones de algunos de los artistas y pensadores más comprometidos de hoy. La publicación está disponible en línea, PDF y en formato impreso a través de su red de distribuidores. Con el número inaugural de e-flux journal se pretende desarrollar al mismo tiempo un espacio discursivo y un lugar para la producción de arte en el que escritores, artistas y pensadores son invitados a escribir sobre temas de su elección, con la intención de que las contribuciones incluidas puedan empezar a dar sentido a la variedad de preocupaciones y urgencias de hoy en día, y que surjan ciertas consistencias y problemas generales para poder dar forma a los siguientes números de la publicación.

Editada por François Bucher, Lucas Ospina y Bernardo Ortiz Valdez. Valdez empezó en 1994 como un diálogo local entre amigos en Colombia. El contenido de Valdez obedece a la lógica que sus editores definieron en su primer editorial como “anacrónica y de autor”. Dado que la revista fue planteada desde el principio como económicamente inviable, la periodicidad y la actualidad informativa no regulaban los intereses de los editores. Valdez se movió en tres vertientes principales: Traducciones de textos que no se conseguían fácilmente en su momento, artículos de colaboradores que incluían dibujos, cuentos, ensayos, documentos, etc; la construcción de una buena parte de la vida y obra de Pedro Manrique Figueroa, el precursor del collage en Colombia, y La publicación de pequeñas películas a manera de flipbook en la esquina inferior derecha de toda la revista.

La revista incluía pequeños chistes tipográficos, que indican un cierto cuidado, juegos con las notas al pie, con las fe de erratas, con las cartas al editor, con todas aquellas cosas que definieron en una época el género revista y que se armaron en esta revista como una ficción. La revista desapareció en 2007.

Pulgar es una revista venezolana editada por el artista Luís Romero desde 1999. Junto al Comisario Eneas Bernal, han configurado un proyecto específico en torno a la publicación para las Vitrinas del MUSAC. La muestra se acerca a algunas de las pautas que han definido la labor de Pulgar: el intercambio entre creadores, el trabajo en red y el rigor de las miradas curatoriales que se han ido sucediendo a lo largo de las diferentes ediciones. Los comisarios muestran también una selección de destacados proyectos editoriales de creación procedentes de distintos contextos latinoamericanos.

Como parte del proyecto MUSAC ha coeditado un número especial de PULGAR. Con una tirada de 4.000 ejemplares, esta nueva publicación gravita sobre la(s) práctica(s) editorial(es) como uno de los ejes de la creación visual contemporánea en América Latina. Un ensayo que desde un lugar y un contexto dado (PULGAR) analizará el creciente interés y la vitalidad de los procesos e ideas así como la sustentabilidad y creatividad que fundamentan el ámbito de la edición en América Latina a través de una nutrida participación de colaboradores en activo y varios proyectos que se han decido rescatar por su interés en determinados contextos del sur del continente.

We received a great guide on that matter from our local library and most books the place not as influensive as your information. I am very glad to see such info which I used to be searching for a protracted time.This made very glad! Anyway, in my language, there usually are not much good source like this.
